It's a good thing that you discovered this before forcing yourself to accepting something, that, in the long-term, would have bothered you. You spare yourself and your potential gf from pending heart-ache. What was it that you discovered about her that turned you off?

I know to everyone I'm the bad guy because I ended the relationship and you refer to it as giving an ultimatum, (actually it wasn't an ultimatum, it was a statement not meant to illicit a reaction because I knew he couldn't change the situation). I need to be honest here about my ex. I tried. My feelings started changing for him several months ago. I didn't want to hurt him!! !! I think I mentioned that here, I'm sure I did. It doesn't make me a bad person for ending it! I already feel guilty for hurting him, but it doesn't make me a bad partner or selfish, etc. You all see that we weren't compatible. He's a wonderful person, and I feel strong empathy and compassion for him. It's not fair. Posters here have called me cruel and selfish and that I refused to support him. I had to end it, of course it's going to hurt the people involved. I was falling out of love. But I couldn't continue on just because I didn't want to break his heart!
