My suggestion is to read the following book from cover to cover.

That kind of leads me to my current situation of what to do next. If I thought she was genuinely just a selfish person just now showing her colors I would have no problem walking away and never looking back.

Men lie about a LOT of things; but I don't believe it's due to any malicious intent on their part - it's mainly an effort to "keep the peace", and also to always keep themselves elevated (again, excuse the pun) in their women's eyes.
