Apparently, Japanese women in that age range are somewhat frustrated that the grass-eater guys are refusing to operate according to the rules, and the Japanese government is having nightmares of a future filled with kidless old duffers.

One of my good male friends is just like that. but I'm not seeing him as someone who does these things regularly. but he also runs marathons. He likes his beer haha... He says he enjoys all those activities, and he's gone along with a couple I've suggested... In other words, I'm not convinced he'd really be the activity partner I'm looking for (in addition to a romantic partner) and I'd be disappointed in his fitness level in more ways than one.

Also, when we have a self image issue, even a small one, the way others treat us and how it affects us is magnified greatly. When I feel bad about myself for whatever reason and somebody blows me off, I start to feel like everybody thinks I'm worthless, when in reality, it's my own self image.
