Why does she think dating is so awful, and does she think she sucks at it because she's had a couple of bad experiences and wants to throw in the towel? OP didn't elaborate, so who knows what her situation is—do men approach her? But I think the key here is TRY. To say, "I suck at dating" is a really good way to keep yourself from doing something you don't want to do.
