At this early stage, it sounds a bit assumptive. I mean, you don't even know at this stage if you'd even WANT a date with him. You could start talking to him and find out he's unintelligent, or rude, or psycho, in which case it wouldn't matter if he has a wife. So I'd keep it light for now and talk about how much Metro sucks (which as you know, is pretty much a common denominator topic for everyone in DC) or about the high number of tourists in town (again, also a common DC topic) or about the Redskins or whatever DC topic is generic enough not to be overly personal at this stage. Now, as for the "wife" comment you suggested, I'd steer very clear of that.

added by Thorson for Katherina on 10.11.2020 in 10:25he told me this weekend that after holding back as he wasnt sure how i felt and not understanding what i see in him - he is now sure that hes falling in love with me. hes absolutely lovely, but there are still getting-to-know-you barriers there and we are still on best behaviour. hes 23, i am 32, i may be looking for more than he is so i asked him where he saw us going a few weeks ago and he says he sees us as long term and i have no reason to doubt him - although i dont know if there are differing ideas of what 'long term' means as yet. we are talking about travelling together for a year next year but so far we have agreed its too early to say if we are 'the ones'. everything has been going at a steady healthy pace and this has all happened in the last 2 weeks after things have been building, including trust and friendship.
