As we began spending more time together though, my feelings grew stronger for him and I started to think of the possibility that maybe I did love him. But then things started to get even worse at home. I enjoyed spending time with him and I didn't want to drop him from my life. I do not think he would do anything to harm himself but I just was not sure b/c the situation and his mental state got so bad. Even though I was scared by what this guy was telling me, I just couldn't let him go. The thought crossed my mind about breaking up with my boyfriend. I was scared of what he would do. He lost his house and job and became severely depressed and stressed. He would bug me constantly about breaking up with my boyfriend to be with him and I would just change the subject b/c it made me so uncomfortable. I was the only good thing in his life he had and I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I might not be in love with him anymore.

He always smiles at me and if i am talking to my girlfriend, he'll mouth the word "Hi." If i'm alone he'll say hello and ask "How are you this morning?" I am 40 years old and there is this really handsome gentleman that i see on the subway platform each morning. OK. I need your help everybody.

Did you love him? In my own case I think I would need at least 6 months or a year to even begin to think about dating anyone seriously again. Four years is a long time.
