He had never in all those years not been where he said he was gonna be or not appropriately updated me. He claimed it was a long serious talk about a bunch of political stuff going on at work and I believed him. I kinda think you only trust like that once. He said he turned his ringer off for the movie and never thought to look at it or turn it on during the hours and hours that he and Rebecca (then longtime friend of both of ours, now his partner) were sitting in the car talking. So around 2 am I called highway patrol and they assured me he wasn't dead. He told me he was looking forward to watching the next episode of Mad Men with me when he got home. He had gone out with a group of friends at 4 pm. When he walked in at 5 am I was just happy af that he was alive.
